I Found My Camera.............

....but no pictures of the bedroom yet. I still need to hang the curtains and do a few other odds and ends then I will unveil it. LOL!

But here are a few recent pictures:

Julianne's Dog, Dasher

Hints of things to come!

This is my Uncle Tom, who (whom?) I just met yesterday for the first time. He is a believer! It was so precious to meet him!

Yesterday was Julianne's last day at co-op. This is the view from the church's parking lot where the co-op is held. Isn't it beautiful??

The living room is full of kitchen cabinets and our countertop came today. Our floor was laid in the bedroom today and our bedroom furniture is now in place. Pictures to follow.................when I can find my camera. :-(. It's here somewhere.

True Holiness

True holiness is the pathway to fullness of life and joy. To be holy is to be wholly satisfied with Christ. Above all, it is to reflect the beauty and the splendor of our holy Lord in this dark world. In pursuing holiness, you will fulfill and expereince all that God had in mind when He created you. ~Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Before Pictures

Here's the colors I picked (with the help of Trish) for our bedroom. I am basically a "white" person so venturing out into the world of color has been a stretch for me.

The card on the right is actually bright white.

This is the look I'm going for: a seaside cottage (in Cape May)
This is the light that will be over my vanity area:

The pictures below are of the furniture before it was taken away and what our bedroom looks like now with no carpet/furniture.

Our painter will be here bright and early tomorrow morning, Lord willing. I'm so excited!

Saturday at Home

The Salvation Army came today to take: two couches and all our bedroom furniture. Our room looks so big! We got a call yesterday that the new furniture is in. Eeek! We still need to paint and put down the floors. Thankfully, all the places are willing to hold our stuff until we are ready for it.

We have small group tonight and I'm making this wonderful dessert. Yum! That's about all from here.

Prince Caspian

In a few minutes we are headed to see "Prince Caspian" with a group of friends from co-op and karate. With a big blockbuster like this, we usually go to the midnight showing but Julianne wanted to go with her friends to the first showing of today. I'm so glad we homeschool! I'll give a review later today, Lord willing.

Wordless Wednesday (baking lesson from Apples of Gold sessions)

Our Piano is Gone

We decided to get rid of our piano since no one really plays it anymore. I sent an e-mail out to some people at church asking if they would be interested in a piano--for free! A member, who is a piano teacher, brought one of her student's parent today to look at the piano and she decided to take it. The movers came about two hours later. Even though it wasn't played much, I will miss it.

Monday at Home

It's very cool and windy here today with off-and-on showers. I'm so thankful I have no where to go. There's plenty here to keep me busy.

Friday at Home

We got a call today from Lowe's telling us our windows are in! should start on those soon. It all depends when J. can put them in. I'm so excited about having windows that actually work and that I can see through! I also think these windows will help us with heating and cooling. Lower bills--yeah!

The Salvation Army is coming the 17th to take away a bunch of furniture. Our bedroom and family room furniture should be here by the end of the month. So, we will be sleeping on the mattress on the floor for a while. We'll be like hippies. :-) I guess we'll get the camping chairs out for the family room! The living room will be empty so we can put the kitchen cabinets in there when they come.
Our summer plans are coming together nicely. We will be going camping with our church in June and also a week by ourselves in July. We have tickets for two days of King's Fest in July. Also in July we will be going to our last 4th of July game and fireworks at the Richmond Braves game. They are moving their team to Georgia after this season. I heard that a Double A team may be coming so that would be great. My sister is coming for a visit in August and taking me to Massanutten Resort for three days. I'm really looking forward to that.

Last but not least, we bought tickets today for the Third Day concert in Virginia Beach on September 12. That will be Julianne's present as she starts high school. Her freshman year.
We have never had this many activities in one summer. We are usually homebodies and just hang around Richmond. I think this is going to be a lot of fun!
Trish and I are almost finished Trusting God. This summer we're studying the book Holiness by Nancy Leigh DeMoss with a few other ladies at church. We don't have a schedule yet but it's expected to be casual and we probably won't be meeting once a week like Trish and me. I'm looking forward to learning more about this subject!
That's all from here today. I'm off to buy some plastic containers to store all our clothes in since our dressers, etc. will be gone next Saturday!

More Glory at the Gardens Pictures

(notice the earplugs on the security guard)

5,000+ and another 1,000 turned away

Above are pictures of Revive, Matthew West, and, of course, Third Day. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for their September concert in Virginia Beach. They'll be playing with Switchfoot and Jars of Clay. It should be a great concert.

This Week at Home

Our Saturdays are free again! Julianne finished up her bowling league this morning and Dasher graduated from obedience school. Now the only thing we have scheduled is our fellowship group on the first and third Saturday evenings.

This week has really been busy. I came home Monday from South Carolina visiting my friend, Barbara. It was a wonderful trip and I had a nice, relaxing time. I have some pictures from the beautiful city of Greenville that I will post later. Actually I have a bunch of pictures that need to be uploaded.

There wasn't a lot of running around this week just busyness at home. The disarry has started from the building projects. Michael and a friend, Kevin, worked on the shed all weekend and it is now finished. It looks so nice!

While they were working on the shed, all manner of equipment and tools were all over the backyard and in our family room. I know it is going to get worse but Trish reminds me to keep the big picture in focus. It will be beautiful when it's done! Everything has been ordered except the floor. We are deciding whether to do it ourselves (actually Michael and friends) or to get it installed. If we got it installed, it would be done quickly. But, it's expensive. If Michael and friends do it, it would be during available weekends and after work during the week. I'm sure I could handle half done flooring through out the house. Well, it's Michael's decision so I will rest in that.

Friday night was our celebration for the end of Apples of Gold. All the spouses were invited and we made their favorite desserts. One lady observed that there were no chocolate ones! Isn't that funny? You can be sure if it was the wives' favorite desserts, there would be something chocolate on the table. :-)

Our chapter this week in our study of Trusting God was sooo good. I know I saw that each time but it seems like each chapter gets better and better. Our study was Growing Through Adversity. It was a long chapter and covered much but I think the last paragraph says it all: There is no question that adversity is difficult. It usually takes us by surprise and seems to strike where we are most vulnerable. To us it often appears completely senseless and irrational, but to God none of it is either senseless or irrational. He has a purpose in every pain He brings or allows in our lives. We can be sure that in some way He intends it for our profit and His glory. Amen!!! If you only read one book this year besides the Bible, this one should be it!!

Tomorrow Julianne and I are going to see Third Day in concert. They are the best Christian rock band out there and I know the concert is going to be great. Their new album is out July 29 and I'm sure they're going to play some songs from it. I'm really looking forward to hearing Consuming Fire, Tunnel and Mountain of God.

Pictures of all of the above will be posted next week. Have a blessed Lord's Day!
