Daily Life

I am still here but have been busy with things at home. My car has been in the shop for two days and I just got it back this morning. It keeps cutting out on me when I drive but for the two days in the shop it worked perfectly. Frustrating!! But it has been a good lesson for me to trust the Lord with this situation and to wait on Him.

Julianne and I are three days into playing a Scrabble game. We hope to finish it soon! We haven't played in a long while and I'm really rusty. I think we're only about 5 points apart!! Gone are the days when I was able to beat her easily at any game. She can now beat me at any game. Of course, I still rule at Trouble. hahaha!

Tomorrow is the Lord's Day. What are you doing to prepare your heart and home for that day?

New Recipes

I've added some new recipes to Serving Recipes at Home. I hope you go over there and check them out. Thanks!!

Thursday at Home

It's a beautiful Spring day here and the sun is finally out after it raining since Thursday! I'm thankful for the rain because it washes away all the pollen. Jared has such bad allergies this time of year so I am always thankful for the rain! However, it was so nice to wake up this morning to sunshine and blue sky!

Julianne takes classes at a local co-op two times a week. The new catalog is now in and it's time to make decisions on what classes she needs next year. Eeek! She needs Spanish 1, Algebra 1, Biology, U.S. History and Writing/Literature. Since the co-op only offers 4 class periods and some of the classes are at the same time, I need to decide what she's going to take there and what we'll do at home. I know for sure that Biology and Algebra will be at school. After daily tears with Jessica over math, I vowed never to teach it at home. Haha! So far, so good!!

I also need to register for the state convention that is coming up in June--which is not as far away as it seems! I really don't see many workshops that I'm interested in attending, so I may just sign up for the 3-day shopping pass.

Ok, things are crazy right now because Jessica is over on her day off so she can upload a bunch of software to her new :pink: laptop! Julianne is down here working on her folder on the book (The Bronze Bow) she just finished in Writing/Literature. It is always hilarious when the three of us are together. Much love and laughter.

Gotta run!!

Been Meditating On........

Psalm 86

Hear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am devoted to You.
You are my God; save Your servant who trust in You.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long.
Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift my soul.

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to You.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I
will call to You, for You will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; no deeds can compare with Yours.
All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; they
will bring glory to Your name. For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You along are God.

Teach me Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart;
I will glorify Your name forever. For great is Your love toward me;
You have delivered me from the depths of the grave.

The arrogant are attacking me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life--men without regard for You.

But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Turn to me and have mercy on me; grant Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your maidservant. Give me a sign of Your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for You, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

In A Manner Worthy

It's hard to believe that a few days ago the ground was covered with 12" of snow. All of that is now gone and the forecast high today is supposed to be 76*. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen because it's now 11:30 and the temperature is already at 70*.

I'm headed out to do some errands and to get ready for our fellowship group tonight. It's been a while since we've met because so many people have been sick. There is a terrible flu going around church right now. Thankfully, we haven't been blessed with it!

This past Sunday we started a series on the book of Philippians. I've been trying to read it each day to get it into my mind and thoughts. What thought has been in my mind today? Philippians 1:27a--"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ." The NIV Study Bible says "worthy of the gospel" is appropriate to the standards and goals given with the gospel.

I pray that as I am out and about this afternoon that I would conduct myself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

March Snow 2009

Beautiful sky today!

As most of you know, I've been disappointed a few times this winter expecting snow and getting none or getting rain. Well, March 1-2 did not disappoint. We got about 12" here at our house and it's beautiful. I love it! A few things that I had going on were cancelled, but that's ok. It's been 10 years since we've had a snow like this so I don't mind!!
The plow came through this afternoon so our street is finally driveable. In some spots it's pretty icy because the temperatures are c.ol.d. When I went to bed last night, it was 8 degrees although the official temperature low was 13. But.....Saturday the high will be 70 so I know this won't last for long.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and videos of our little winter wonderland!
